So the meal planning - my favourite part is not having to worry about meals for about two days. I never manage to pull it off for a full week, but every bit counts and my fam is so happy with less prep. That said, I can only take it so far. People who have sliced fruit and veg in perfect little Tupperwares are secretly serial killers.
The home designing - my hubby is not officially a designer but he should have been lol. He has such a specific aesthetic. I used to make suggestions but they were always shot down - now I just let him do his thing and then I veto what I don't like.
That meal prep spread sounds delicious! It really does make life so much easier. LOOOOVE that black and white lamp! I keep reminding myself that home design/renovation is an ongoing process and you’re never truly done (or at least that is what the experts say). So much work. SO MUCH FUN.
A PROCESS, indeed. I’m learning to have patience and love it, which is totally against my hasty nature 🙃 and you’re sooo right about The Secret History- first chill in the air and this book is hitting different!!!
Bennington! I almost went there, simply because I became devoted to the idea after I read A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid in hs. Along with so many inspired writers, Kincaid had lived in Bennington, VT. Decided to go to art school instead, but I appreciate you writing about your love for Bennington writers. I laughed at the apple review jokes, I cried thinking about surviving in this world as highly sensitive creative person (yes I am too), I nodded along in recognition at your vibes based design decisions (fully agree with you that earth tones/warm browns are the best choice for walls. Earth shades are some of the most calming, grounding, home like colors imo, because they remind us of earth, tree bark, soil, and as you said so astutely, a kind furry animal friend.) Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos, funny jokes, and brilliant writing. I love this!
Omg, you totally get my Bennington obsession then! And major love for fellow HSPs… we’re just doing our best out here in this overstimulating ass life 😭❤️ thank you so much for reading!
Imo it’s not meal prepping unless you sort all of the prepped food into pre-allotted amounts. Otherwise it’s just cooking for the week, which feels so much better to say
I read The Secret History last April and have thought about it weekly since, the story is just so good, especially this time of year. Hoping you’ll have a favorable review, too!
Not you making "touch grass" poetic!
