Drinking: French press coffee with oat milk and a black cherry seltzer. Not the most complementary combo, but it’s getting me through the day.
Loving: This incredible Instagram account, @shitbloggerspost. Its administrator crafts a seamless feed of influencer content to expose the lack of originality among some of the platform’s aesthetic accounts. What’s great about Shit Bloggers Post is that they keep it lighthearted, not seeking to promote hate, but to collectively laugh at our derivative online behavior.
Craving: Olives. Perhaps it’s the enhanced allure of a Mediterranean escape during a travel ban. Perhaps it’s all the influencers posting aesthetic shots of a plate of olives (see above).
Wanting: These hot pink Balenciaga slingback mules. I’m not one to care about high fashion beyond artistic appreciation, but my boyfriend’s sister just got a job at Kering, so the wheels are turning. These shoes are a perfect transitional statement piece from summer to fall if you ask me which absolutely no one did and I’m just looking for justification to buy them.
Thinking: About dreams. Whenever I have a vivid dream lately, I’ve been grabbing my phone and entering it in notes. Last night I dreamt that my friends and I were in a field where I used to have cheerleading camp. Emily Ratajkowski was on a stage announcing a writing contest and the prompt was, *I shit you not* verbatim: “Is mayonnaise the fuel of American inertia?” I literally cannot stop thinking about this and wondering what unattended corner of my mind this came from.
Working On: Two upcoming pieces for paid subscribers, which include 1.) my skincare routine (hint: it’s fairly affordable [though I know that looks differently to everyone], it includes products you might not have heard of or used, and I’ll explain my new attitude toward skincare since quarantine), and 2.) an apartment piece with links to our favorite items (hint: it’s also fairly affordable, with the same disclaimer).
