Eating: Trader Joe’s frozen seafood paella. I know that sounds blasphemous toward the iconic Spanish dish, but it’s honestly good and an easy lunch. Come for me. No seriously beat my ass I’ve never been in a fight and I feel like I should check this box.
Drinking: Lemon seltzer, also from TJ’s… because what isn’t?
Working On: The first installment of BBM Book Club, which will live on my Instagram! People have been asking me for book reviews, and rather than add a third component to my Substack beyond Daily Drips and personal essays, I’m going to keep reviews short, sweet, and ‘grammable. I’ll put a book on my story before I start to read it so folks can join in, add it to a highlight, and then make an in-feed post for the review. I love Instagram’s ability to compress bits of our identities and personalities, and for how deeply absorbed I am in everything I read, it would be a shame to not share that with anyone interested.
Loving: My friend Kelly’s new scrunchie brand, Chiron Studio. Chiron (pronounced kairon) is the hair accessory marriage of sustainability and spirituality, drawing inspiration from crystals, astrology, and more. Before launching Chiron, Kelly was a womxnswear designer and illustrator at Brooks Brothers. I’ve known Kelly since freshman year of high school when she encouraged me to try going commando. I have not consistently worn underwear since. Follow Chiron Studio on Instagram at @chiron.studio and snag one of these gorgeous scrunchies for yourself or as a gift.
Listening To: The sounds of Andrew clicking away at some design project. Now that I finally have a (hella cute) desk and swivel chair, I’ve moved into the office where Andrew’s been working all month. I’m oddly not worried about us getting sick of each other (or whatever alternatively doomed outcomes one can conjure from too much time together.) I’m honestly just grateful to have a place to work that isn’t where I also eat every meal.
