Quote of the Week: “I don't do anything with my life except romanticize and decay with indecision.”― Allen Ginsberg
Eating: A toasted GF bagel with avocado, lox, and Trader Joe’s chili onion crunch + Everything But The Bagel seasoning. I guess my body’s craving fats.
Listening to: Ready to Die by Biggie. Today is the anniversary of his 1997 death—a tragedy that haunts the psyche of hip-hop fans and Brooklynites in perpetuity. This album takes me back to high school, winding around country roads in my best friend’s white Dodge Dakota. She always put me on to the best music.
Just Watched: Judas and the Black Messiah. Anything with both Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield is bound to be gold, but this powerful film stuck with me.
Grateful for: So much. Like, SOOOOOOOOO much. I can walk my dog in 60 degree weather! I can taste and smell (though considerably duller)! And most importantly, I can feel love pulsing through my life after friends and family got me through COVID agony. I’m sure I’ll start taking every little miracle for granted again in approximately 3-5 business days, but for now, I’m floating.
Just Tried: Well, brown sugar is having a day over here. When I ventured out of the house this morning for the first time in two weeks, I tried that new Starbucks drink, the Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso. Big yum! I don’t normally fw sweet and/or flavored coffee beverages, but this was truly lovely. Then I made my way to CVS where I picked up the e.l.f. lip exfoliator in brown sugar—also big yum! For $6, this product sloughs off dead skin and nourishes with a mélange of oils. My lips have been parched this winter like no other, so in typical fashion, I decided to wait until basically spring to do anything about it.
