Listening To: This playlist I found on Spotify. I searched “outdoor voices” to see if the brand had an account, assuming it’d be full of electroindiebedroompop delights that I’d never find without the help of some white guy named River who wears a lot of Patagonia, owns a Corgi, and is a “Creative @outdoorvoices by day, kombucha brewing himbo by night.” Much to my chagrin, this playlist features some songs I know/love, and appears to belong to one Aileen Mattix. Thanks, Aileen!
Currently Reading: Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. If you’ve read this book, you know that I’m walking a tightrope over a pit of insanity right now. Someone actually DMed me on Instagram saying they had to put it down after two pages because they felt drunk. Having read a short work of his before, I had the gusto to push through the initial confusion. Thus, I can tell you it gets much more coherent and even wonderful.
Working On: Volume 2 of The Nut Diaries! Yesterday I had a nice, short conversation with my ex who’s the topic of this one. Because we’re still friends, I wanted to get his blessing on using his first name and any sensitive details. He was totally supportive and even told me I could frame him in any light necessary to tell our story. This is unlike another ex who caught word of this series and blew up my phone in a panicked frenzy, ending an email with “…taking a Xanax now. bye.” Some people just don’t respect the craft!
Wanting: A dog. I actually really want a cat, but Andrew says it’ll ruin the furniture or whateva. If you know of any sweet shelters or anyone fostering a Real Good Boy™, let me know. Preferably something on the smaller + younger side.
Loving: This Enneagram bullshit. On an endless journey to UnDeRsTaNd MySeLf, this aligns with the other fields and self-assessments I can’t help indulging, like astrology and Chapman’s 5 Love Languages. I am an Enneagram Type 4. I am so Type 4 that my friends were genuinely shook upon reading the description. Curious about your own? Take the test here.
