Quote of the Week: “The best advice I’ve ever received is to be yourself and life will repay you gently.”― Gilda Ambrosio as told to Coveteur in this 2015 interview
Eating: Dark chocolate filled with salted caramel. I just did one of those “show me a photo of…” stories on Instagram (and wow are they unexpectedly laborious lol) and someone asked me to show a photo of my favorite snack of late. Tbh chocolate is the only snack I eat regularly. I love snack food (what did we do to deserve CHIPS!?) but typically I’m a three meals per day girl. Do you guys snack? Should I be snacking? Am I missing out on something the way I know I am with naps? Send me your favorite snacks.
Just Watched: Excuse Me, I Love You, Ariana Grande’s new Netflix special on her Sweetener World Tour. I loved it! I’m an Ari stan which is probably pathetic to admit at 29, but it gave me exactly what I wanted/expected: pop concert footage with cool dancers and powerful vocals and teeny moments of my favorite celebrity being cute and pretty. I sincerely appreciated this critique from IndieWire, though.
Feeling: Really relaxed the past two days. It’s sad how used to anxiety I’ve gotten that I can’t just take a chill day for what it is. I’m like, “it must be where I’m at in my cycle” or some shit, looking for the underlying determinant.
Currently Reading: Create Dangerously: The Immigrant Artist at Work by Edwidge Danticat. This will likely be the last book I finish in 2020 and the 10th since starting #bbmbooks on Instagram in September. I’m already cheesing at the prospect of reading a ton of awesome books in 2021, and hopefully documenting it on social media gets other people excited, too.
