Eating: An almond croissant.
Drinking: Black coffee.
Working On: Moving! And writing about moving for another piece (stay tuned, paid subscribers). Hence the charmingly eclectic #inspo photo above. Andrew and I settle into our Fairmount abode this week. So far, this looks like *10* bags of donated clothes, arguing over the importance of a $1,500 television, lots of eating out to avoid buying/wasting groceries, and more IKEA runs than I thought humanly possible. I have a masochistic taste for the occasional bout of chaos, so it works out.
Feeling: Fulfilled. Prior to launching my Substack last week, I was really down about writing. My inner monologue was reduced to questions like, “Who would read you?” and “What’s the point?” on loop. I’m thrilled you’re all on this new journey with me. If you haven’t subscribed to the paid version, please consider doing so to access my work going forward. I’ll be releasing public Daily Drips here and there, but the real sauce gon cost ya. (And remember, if the subscription price is not within reach right now, do not be ashamed to reach out to me. I’ve been there, and having accessible writing you enjoy is important.)
Wanting: A hair appointment. Is this out of reach with salons reopening to a mass of angry, split-ended, dark-rooted beauties verging on mania? Probably. But between our apartment move, launching this newsletter, etc., I’m itching for the hair change to match. Stay tuned for something I will probably regret!
Loving: Beer. Those who know me (and those who don’t… I basically never shut up about the things I love) know that I almost exclusively drink wine. There is a piece of perpetually dry skin in the center of my upper lip that I wake up to stained purple almost daily. But when I celebrated my birthday the other week, I drank beer all night and haven’t been able to shake the craving for crisp, cold, limey cervezas. They just add to the fever dream of a sticky Philadelphia summer.
